Ingredients

  • 8 cups whole-grain bread, cubed
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups low-sodium vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Sauté celery and onion until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, mix bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, garlic powder, thyme, sage, pepper, and salt.
  5. Pour vegetable broth over the mixture and stir until evenly moistened.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped fresh herbs before baking.
