Description

Delicious banana bread bars made without added sugar for a healthier treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add applesauce, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in walnuts if using.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
